Your Bare Home Exterior Can Look Like A 10 On A Dime Budget

If you have never had to do landscaping but you're now a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to make sure your house looks great. You want to have a house that looks neat and appears maintained, and you don't have to spend a lot of money to improve the curb appeal.

If the front of the home is bare and there aren't any bushes and there isn't a pathway or mulch bed, you want to get some greenery and work gloves to start making the change. Here are a few things to consider.

Create a Layout

If you have a sidewalk you can make a trail where you want the mulch from around the sidewalk and up to the house. You can choose to just go a couple of feet away from the walkway and the home, or you can choose to make the area larger with curves and more. There are some easy layouts you can follow, or you can create what you think looks best. Once you know your layout you can dig up the sod in those areas, and pat the earth down to prepare for the mulch. Add Bushes

Once you have the area created where you are going to put the mulching and greenery, plant your bushes. Make sure that you plant as directed so roots don't mingle and the bush has enough space to spread. It's best to pick low maintenance bushes if you don't want to spend a lot of time pruning and watering.

Add Mulch

Mulch is easy to work with, it looks great, and you can have mulch delivered in large amounts to save money. You can choose a few different colors of mulch, and it's instantly going to add some contrast to the home. Put it around the bushes in over where the grass has been removed. This is something you'll have to do every couple of years, but it's worth the investment.

Use Flowers

If you're looking for some color, large flowers like hydrangeas or rose bushes are great to add around the front of the house. You can also add hanging plants or planters if you want to change the color of flowers you use each year.

If your house is currently barren in front and you want to add some greenery and style, these tips will help you make it look great.

Preserving Your Resources

A few years ago, I didn't worry too much about how much we spent on food, fuel, and housing. However, after my husband lost his job, we found ourselves in dire straits. We started struggling to make ends meet, and I realized that it might be a good idea to become a little more frugal. We took a class on preserving our resources, and we learned more than we could ever imagine. In addition to saving money on utilities and transportation, we also learned about our carbon footprint. I hope that my website can help you to learn more about your impact on the environment, so that you can spend as little as possible.
